Getting started
In developmentWhat Landmate is, where it stands today, and the handful of ideas the rest of the documentation builds on.
This document describes the platform foundation under development. Details may change before launch.
Landmate is software for managing residential and commercial rental properties: buildings, shopping plazas and the units inside them. It is in early development and is not open to the public yet.
What exists today
Today Landmate is a platform foundation: the parts every later feature depends on. They are being built now:
- Workspaces: one account per organization, with its own members, locations, files and settings.
- Members and roles: Owner, Manager, Staff and Read-only, each with a fixed set of permissions.
- Locations: a way to group work inside a workspace and to limit who sees what.
- Account security: sign-in, multi-factor authentication, session management and an audit log.
- English and Spanish throughout.
- Mobile apps for iOS and Android, alongside the web app.
The rental-management features — properties, units, residents, leases, maintenance and rent — are planned and not built yet. This documentation does not describe them as available.
Key ideas
Workspace. The account your organization uses. Everything you create belongs to one workspace, and nothing in one workspace is visible from another. We say "workspace" rather than "tenant" because, in property management, a tenant is a person who rents.
Member. A person who belongs to a workspace. One person can belong to several workspaces and switch between them.
Role. What a member may do in a workspace. See Roles and permissions.
Location. A group of things inside a workspace. A location can later represent a portfolio, a building or a plaza. See Workspaces and locations.
